Death

Death is something that everyone will experience at some point in their lives. This is something I know all to well. My father suffered from cancer for 19 yrs. and she passed in 2008. My mother at the time moved in with me and my family. She had no medical problems other than worried about her 12 grown children. Well in April my mother suffered a stroke that left her unable to speak well and walk. After two months in recovery she began to regain a little cognition but took a turn for the worst and had another stroke that took her life. It is very painful to deal with death but knowing that my parents loved me and I loved them gives me comfort. I have had a series of deaths in my family within the next two months after her death two cousins and my brother all out of the blue sort of speak. So where I stand today is in the position of healing.

Working in groups

Working in groups can be a task to deal with at times. It is very important that each group mate member have an open mind and a willingness to pull their weight. I have worked on a class project that my group mates did next to nothing on the project so I completed it alone. I did the research and wrote the ten page paper alone. Yes I got an A but it was way too much to handle on a short period of time and especially when you thought you had help on the project. So sometimes it can be a challenge. I have had great groupsmates as well on other projects/presentations. One thing that seems to happen a lot to me is that no one seems to want to be the leader of the group so it would be nice to have someone else be in charge instead of myself.

Overwhlemed

I am so grateful that I finally submitted my powerpoint of my snapshots. I thought I had completed the weeks assignment but little did I know I had over looked another assignment. The internet activity here I go again I do not know how I'm going to get all these things completed. I know I'm just venting right now but I really need help with keeping up with everything in my online courses. I will get myself together shortly but right now I can not catch my breath.

Oh my goodness I am having so much trouble with this igoogle situation. It is so frustrating to work on something for hours and nothing is working properly but I guess it is a part of learning. I am still excited to learn but boy is it taking me to another world!!!

Early Childhood Learning

My goals for this class is to get a better understanding in this field of study because it is very new to me. I know very little about early childhood other than observation from having my children in a child care center. I would like to start with the basics and really get a deeper understanding of what the needs of the children are as well as what is expected of a provider. Creating a blog was somewhat a challenge because I have never done this before but I hope things go smoothly. I think this course will be a challenge because its all brand new to me but I'm sure I will catch on fast. I'm usually a fast learner.
